A few alleyways and side streets away from the tourist bustle of the Sacré-Cœur cathedral in Paris' Montmartre neighborhood lies Clos Montmartre. It was first planted in 1932 and is the only commercial vineyard in Paris. Situated directly behind Renoir's Garden, it's a beautiful vineyard that is made up largely of Gamay vines but a number of other varietals as well. I visited recently during a trip to Paris. If you can find yourself a bottle, it's well worth a try.
